Our Director

Author, consultant and speaker, Dr. Jeff Grumley LCPC, is a senior faculty member and current President of the International Association of Applied Control Theory (www.iaact.com). His doctorate is in counseling and he is licensed in the State of Illinois as an LCPC. In 1988 he began The Grumley Group with several associates. Dr. Grumley is a child and adolescent psychotherapist. He has experience counseling in camps, group homes, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, churches, mental health organizations and through his private practice with children, adolescents and their families. Based upon his effectiveness as a psychotherapist for over twenty years, he is one of the most sought-after counselors in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. For additional information about Dr. Grumley see:     Credentials 



 

Therese Grumley, LCPC has over 20 years of experience in the delivery of psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and consultation to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has two master’s degrees in psychology, completed clinical residency, is nationally certified in IAACT (Applied Control Theory). She is trained and experienced in doing one-on-one, family, and couple therapy with adults. Her specialty is working with adults and families in transition, such as single parent families, which can include issues related to depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, intimacy and identity issues, spirituality and life purpose concerns.  She has worked in a psychiatric hospital as well as worked as a health center director and counselor at Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois. At present she works full-time as a private practice as a master’s level psychotherapist. 



 

 

 

James Frazier, MA is a seasoned workshop presenter, counselor, and teacher. He has conducted over 500 workshops through out the US, Canada, and Europe. He is an experienced group leader specializing in experiential psychotherapy using a wide range of techniques and methods such a psychodrama, role play, voice dialogue, emotional release, mask making, and other techniques designed to facilitate personal growth through experiential as well as cognitive inner work.

 

 

 



A long-time northerner of 34 years, Lynn Taylor has lived in all three of Canada's territories in the cities of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; Rankin Inlet, Nunavut; and Whitehorse, Yukon. Lynn worked as a public and school librarian for 18 years and is a human development program instructor. As an A Connected School trainer, she has been working with these ideas in schools and with families for nine years. Currently, Lynn works for Yellowknife Education District No. 1 as Coordinator of the Restitution Peace Project. This five-year initiative to create achieving, caring, and safe schools in NWT and Nunavut communities is funded by Canada's National Crime Prevention Centre and community partners. Lynn resides in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, with her family of four.
